Use a elementary threading technique and pony chaplet to make a lizard keychain! Hang information technology on your haversack, in your room, or as a keychain for your library card. Selection upwardly a craft kit in the Youth Services Department or at the bulldoze-up window, bachelor while supplies last. Recommended for ages half-dozen and up.

In this kit:

  • String
  • 28 green beads
  • 12 orangish or yellow beads
  • 7 royal beads
  • 2 bluish beads
  • one keyring

Y'all will demand:

  • Scissors

Directions:

  1. Place one green bead in the heart of the string. This will be your lizard's nose. Now you have a correct cord and a left string (they should be near the same length).
  2. String two dark-green beads onto the right string. Now, thread the left string back through the two green beads. Pull it tight to make a triangle. These beads are now double-threaded. This is the technique yous volition use to make the balance of the lizard!
  3. Thread a bluish, green, and then blue dewdrop onto the right string. Put the left thread back through the 3 beads, and pull tight.
  4. String ii green chaplet onto the right string. Put the left cord back through, and pull tight.
  5. Now you will make the lizard'south front feet. Thread two green beads and three orange beads onto the right string. Using the same right string, thread it back through but the two light-green beads, and pull tight. You lot may need to hold onto the lizard or also pull on the left side to become it pulled tight plenty. Keep pulling it snug; you'll get there!
  6. Repeat step 5 using the left string. Thread 2 green beads and three orange chaplet onto the left string. Using the same left cord, thread it dorsum through only the 2 green beads, and pull until snug.
  7. Thread a green, purple, green dewdrop onto the right string, and put the left cord back through to double thread.
  8. Keep double threading following the color pattern on the beginning page (the Pattern Page included shows the same design; information technology just shows y'all how the string looks on the inside). Repeat steps 5 and 6 to make the lizard'southward dorsum legs.
  9. In one case yous get to the end of the pattern, tie a double knot and make certain information technology'south secure.
  10. Necktie the remaining string onto your keychain. Tie a double or triple knot to make sure it's good and secure. Cut the ends of the thread.

Ta-da!  Y'all now have a lizard keychain!
